Islamic Guidance on Marriage

Choosing a Spouse

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "A woman is married for four things: her wealth, her lineage, her beauty, and her religion. So marry the one who is religious, may your hands be rubbed with dust (i.e., may you prosper)."

The Importance of Compatibility

Islam emphasizes compatibility in faith, character, and values. Marriage is half of faith, and choosing a spouse who will help you grow closer to Allah is essential.

Making Istikhara

Before making the decision to marry someone, it is recommended to perform Istikhara (seeking guidance from Allah) to ensure the choice is beneficial for both your worldly life and Hereafter.
