Children are described in the Quran as a blessing, a test, and a trust from Allah. These verses guide us on how to raise them with love, wisdom, and righteousness, ensuring they grow up to be faithful servants of Allah and beneficial members of society.
الْمَالُ وَالْبَنُونَ زِينَةُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا
"Wealth and children are the decoration of the life of this world"
Allah acknowledges that children are a blessing and joy in this life
وَقُل رَّبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا
"And say, "My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up when I was small""
Teaching gratitude and kindness toward parents who raised us
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا قُوا أَنفُسَكُمْ وَأَهْلِيكُمْ نَارًا
"O you who believe! Protect yourselves and your families from a Fire"
Parents are responsible for guiding their children toward righteousness
رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
"My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous"
Prophet Ibrahim's prayer for righteous offspring
وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا أَوْلَادَكُمْ خَشْيَةَ إِمْلَاقٍ ۖ نَّحْنُ نَرْزُقُهُمْ وَإِيَّاكُمْ
"And do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We provide for them and for you"
Allah is the Provider for all children and their families
Children are an amanah (trust) from Allah, and parents will be questioned about how they raised them
Every child has the right to proper Islamic education, love, and care from their parents
Islam teaches treating all children fairly and equally, regardless of gender
